The excursion starts in the center of Åndalsnes, from there we will drive along the Salmon River Rauma with mountains rising dramatically on both sides before we will come to Europe’s tallest vertical rock face, the Troll Wall (Trollveggen). Don’t forget to look behind you, because there we will find the famous Romsdalshorn (1,524 meters). After a photo stop of approximately 15 minutes, the drive continues along the Rauma River.

The real Troll-adventure begins when crossing the Sogge Bridge: we will approach the Isterdal Valley, surrounded by majestic mountains with names like The King, The Queen and The Bishop. The bus will take us all the way up Trollstigen (Troll Road), a road opened in 1936 with 11-hairpin bends. Every bend has its own name, we can find them on the signs placed in every curve. From the bottom of the valley, and on our way up to the Trollstigen Plateau, we can admire the beautiful waterfall Stigfossen with a vertical drop of 180 meters.

On the top of Trollstigen we will have a longer break at the Mountain Lodge Trollstigheimen. Here we can enjoy the magnificent views of the wild mountains and the view over the Trollstigen Road before we make our way back down.
