The Gateway to the Norwegian Fjords

Bergen Tours

Bergen is located in the middle of Fjord Norway, with easy access to the Norwegian fjords and surrounded by 7 mountains. The waterfront is really the heart of Bergen, with the Fish Market and the picturesque old wooden Bryggen habour – a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979.

Bryggen is a reminder of the town’s importance as part of the Hanseatic League’s trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century. From 1350 to 1750 the Hanseatic merchants traded stockfish and grains from their office in Bergen. Today, some 62 buildings remain of this former townscape.

Bergen has several, well preserved authentic areas with picturesque, tiny wooden houses climbing the hillside above, the Nordnes peninsula and around the Funicular station Floibanen.

The starting point of the the Funicular is centrally located, just a short walk from the Fish Market, and takes you to the top of mount Floyen (appr. 400 m above sea level), offering a marvellous view of the city and the surrounding scenery. All this areas are within easy walking distance of the centre.

Come with us to get the best experience in Bergen.
