My love for Norway and Hurtigruten began more than 25 years ago and I made my first Hurtigruten journey on the old traditional ships.

I discovered my love for Norway five years ago and since then have been guiding tourists through the capital Oslo.
I live with my family on the island of Godøya (near Ålesund) since 2011 and work as a guide since 2015 in the most beautiful area of Norway – at least in my opinion.
The Gigantic expanse, …quietness and nature – combined with a special story, these are my feelings about Norway.
After many wonderful holidays in Norway, my wife and I decided to relocate our residence from Germany to Norway indefinitely. Now we can continue to enjoy the peace, serenity and, above all, the beauty of nature right on the spot.
I’m originally from Hamburg and I have experience as a guide not only with demanding tourists, but also with particularly critical journalists, for many years.
One of the questions that I hear the most from my guests is: “So? What brought you to Norway? The love?”
Passionate about languages, I’m a “world citizen” with a long experience as interpreter, translator and language teacher.
I can define Norway with one word: wild. The beautiful fjords, the mighty mountains, the wild animals that live near the houses of men, make Norway a unique and special place.
