Geiranger

Thanks to its unique fjord landscape and natural beauty, the Geirangerfjord has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005.

Geirangerfjord has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. It has been referred to as the most beautiful fjord in the world, with the combination of the majestic landscape and the inaccessible, vertical mountainsides that end in the deep green water of the fjord. Beside this, the fjord of Geiranger is a small, picturesque tourist village, surrounded by green mountain sides, snowy peaks and waterfalls.

The first cruise boat visited Geiranger in 1869. These days approximately 200 cruise ships visit Geiranger during every summer, which has made this village Norway’s third largest port after Bergen and Oslo.

A number of waterfalls along the mountainsides add to the special atmosphere here. The most famous ones are The Seven Sisters (De syv søstre).

But there is much more to explore.
